I drink to that!

Don't know if you read about this: A czech ornitologist claims in a study that consumption of beer is directly correlated to the quality of your scientific work:
"According to the study, published in February in Oikos, a highly respected scientific journal, the more beer a scientist drinks, the less likely the scientist is to publish a paper or to have a paper cited by another researcher, a measure of a paper’s quality and importance."
Being a recently published junior scientist myself and well known to enjoy a cold one every once in a while, I was rather doubtful about this study.

Better than I'd ever be able to though, the Gentleman Scientist debunks this study, coming to this very nice conclusion:
"Thus, the entire study came down to only one conclusion: the five worst ornithologists in the Czech Republic drank a lot of beer."
Cheers to that!
